How European Salafism can make us reflect on a new typology of Salafism?

Abstract This article focuses on contemporary Salafism in the European context and how it speaks to categories Wiktorowicz put forth his seminal 2006 article. Specifically, examines we can identify, describe, classify main forms of Salafist religiosity Western countries. Furthermore, by examining relationship politics, preaching, orthodoxy orthopraxy several societies, this analysis contributes debate typologies proposes new ways conceiving distinguishing attachment vision Islam countries where religion is a minority. It also shows that fundamentalist radical currents are even more attached despite or because strong attention they receive from public authorities media.
